Hello everyone! I'm looking to purchase some new rims and have been looking at a set of Rota Grid. I want to get 18x9.5 with some 215/40/18 or 225/40/18, depending on which one would fit better without having to camber or roll my fenders. Do any of you have experience with a rim that size on a 2000 Subaru Legacy (JDM BE5)?
Thanks for the help!

i don't think you're going to get anywhere near the 9's without fender rolling.

A 9.5" rim is way too wide for that tire width - optimum would be 7" to 7.5".

You think 225 would be better than? I've seen cars with 215s, but they were really stretched.

Hi,
I'm running 225.50.16's on my legacies both on 16.7 RS wheels ... correct offset.... with coilovers .. no issues .. on the 98 with adjustable AGX's .. spring support is wider than stock and/or coilovers .. so running a 3mm shim at all corners ... and only issue was the spacing between wheel and spring seat in the rear ... just to be safe though .. I did roll rear fenders on both legacy's .. I would not recommend going wider but if you search the forums .. there are some that have managed to run a wider wheel ... note that a 225 gives you another 40 mm of contact patch ... and it does mke a difference .. : ![]() Charlie |

I went with 225/40/18s and the rear had issues. I adjusted the coilovers and getting the fenders rolled.

Yes, it was sitting on the tire.
