Its so much easier to just turn your wheels and pop the 3 inner fender clips, pull the black plastic out of the way and reach right in and unplug them. It took me 2 minutes to do it.

Then while you are down there, install a 10" jumper and your fogs become DLRs. Jump from 12V side and they are nice and bright. No fog functionality lost either. I swapped in yellow bulbs and they look excellent.

Not sure if DRLs are required around here but is there a way to rewire them to halos or demon eyes (legal color of course) just a thought. I'm really new to wiring and lighting.

Never understood why someone would want to remove a safety feature.

I agree! I wish more cars came with DRL. I'm sick of jerks on the road at night or in a storm driving with their lights off to look "cool".

And I'm not implying OP is one of them.

There is no replacement for being an intelligent and courteous driver. If someone doesn't know to turn on their headlights at night or in the rain, they're a plain idiot.

I have my drl's disabled, and have in very car that I've owned that has been so equipped. Guess what, I still know how and when to turn on my headlights, as have a hundred years worth of drivers before me.

For me personally, there are times at night when I don't want my headlights on. In the morning when I warm up my car I don't want my retrofitted projectors lighting up my kids' room. At the drive-thru I turn on my parking lights only till I pull up to the window. At the track I use only my parking lights in the return lane so that I don't blind oncoming racers.

Exactly - my garage is lined up perfectly with the neighbors master bedroom window, and I back into my garage.

I feel so much better knowing that I am not spotlighting their room when I turn my car on in the morning and pull out. I just wait until I am in the street before turning the lights on.

your DRLs are not bright enough to be blinding anyone. Especially a house across the street. Unless your also one of those people that put 100000000000 hid drl. And as for reference vehicles on a flight line at night drive with just DRLs to insure not to blind pilots

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a receptacle to plug directly into the DRL connector?

My idea: use Angel Eyes or tasteful LEDs in place of the DRLs. I don't want to 'tap' into the factory harness, so the cleanest way I can think to do it would be to wire to an OEM receptacle that will fit the factory plug. Should voltage (too little) be an issue, I can run the plug to a relay first. Granted, it'll mean more wires throughout the engine bay, but still wouldn't require any splicing/soldering. Though reading through these comments it almost sounds as if the resistor is on the grounding side?

Thanks!

I didn't like the stock DRL either but I didn't disabled it. I just switched it to my oem fogs instead so now my fogs are my DRL.
