i think its the sti sport one. available on the first gen impreza as a dealer option..... mmm... i think i'm in on one. i wonder how much rebar chopping i have to get this thing on. lol. also keep in mind you need a us spec rebar and maybe do some mods to it to fit.

ooooh! ooops...I gotta go change my pants

I think those are direct bolt ons with the US rebar. Just get that skin and the US re-bar and youre set! Sweet deal!

are they urethane, or fiberglass? If its a REAL sti part it should be urethane.

HOK, if I were you, I'd import a bunch of these and sell em to i-clubbers...even if you dont see initial interest right now, you can sell those NO PROBLEM!

damn MRC computers. took me 10 mins to log on. .

don't quote me on any of this because i'm not sure myself. the US spec rebar will probably work but i heard you have to do some "modifications" to it. the sti sport cover and v5/6 bumper has some differences. either way i'm down for whatever hok can bring back

Josh, you can buy the real STi 22B bumper from STi for about 83,000 yen brand new (retail). So your saving maybe like $300.

Aircanada charges something like $300 for each extra piece of luggage over what you are supposed to have.

Cathay charge about $1200 for extra luggage
But that is supposed you have two luggages already and you have one extra box/luggage/any extra items that have to be check in

So if you carry one luggage and a box of the bumper, then it's fine

The only thing you need to do is that you have to take the box to the "oversized items check in counter"

Josh, yeah im sure

My friend that came to japan with me wanted to bring his skis. Aircanada lets you have 2 checkons, He already had 2 checkons, and they wanted $300 for him to bring his skiis.

Luckily I only had one suitcase so I just took them as mine. But my suitcase weighed in at like 73kg (limit is 70kg), and they wanted an extra $340 or something for the extra 3kg!!!! I ended up opening up my suitcase and throwing away 3kg of **** at the airport. They're pretty strict on their luggage limits. Different airlines may be different.

Ill check tonite to see if the real one fits or not. I have a feeling at the very least you may need the US spec rebar. Though im not even sure if Japa spec cars use the same rebar on the V5/V6 as the US spec car does.

Its posisble they have the lightweight bar, which is even smaller than the US spec.

Hey Josh.

I checked on it,

WRカータイプフロントバンパー

It says "WR Car Type Front Bumper.

The description (poorly translated by yours truly ) is :

"98 year WRC design and authentically reproduces the appearance. <something i cant understand>
Uses (or has?) 22B fog lamps and covers attached to it.
Made with FRP with no coating (paint)."

So it looks like it isn't made of urethane. Fiberglass reinforced plastic. That is the description I got from the STi catalog.

As to whether its an actual 22B bumper, im not sure. It looks exactly like the one roland posted though. It might be different because of the lack of fender flares.

But anyways, its 83000 yen.

Application list says it fits all cars but the 22B (keep in mind still this is japa spec cars. Not sure what inner beams they have).

Yeah, typhon signal number 8 is on now

most of the people in HK now are at home watching the 911 live boardcast from US, all 4 channels are the same screen now.

$600-$700 sounds too good to be true almost. most vendors sell these things for $800-$1000+US. from what i've been told the oem sti sport bumer is urethane according to tulit it might be a cheaper plastic/fiberglass.... one look at the bumper cover and you should be able to tell what material it is made from.

it doesn't make sense sti would cheap out and make one of their bumpers in fiberglass... who knows.

But $600-$700 is just for the bumper only, no rear bar and no fog lights

As I see from those US parts site:
The V5 bumper kit cost US $551.09 + US $75 shipping convert to Can is about $950 in total

It includes:
Bumper Face
Bumper Beam
Fog Lights (L/R)
Fog Light Brackets (L/R)
Amber Turn Signal Lamps (L/R)
Amber Bumper Vents (L/R)

So its reasonable though.

no roland isn't talking about the V5 bumper... i think this "sport bumper" is more expensive... also 600 is fair i don't think the vendors that are selling this for 1300 US are being reasonable... its just that they know the mass public won't know better...

by the way those banana signals are 88 bucks at rally spec.. probably where i'd get them...

V6 your in HK now right? you got a good parts place that i can find? have you done any shopping?

the sti sport bumper skin and turnsignals cost anywhere from $800-$1200 US depending on vendor. look at the challenger deep website. they have the bumper skin with turn signals for $900US.

in HK these things go for $3000-$3500HK money... so that equals to about $600-$700 canadian.. thats a pretty damn good deal if its the real sti sport bumper.

to get any sort of aftermarket bumper skin on you have to either get a US spec rebar or chop the stock rebar..... both options are illegal....

EDIT: please tell me where can you get the complete US bumper conversion for $950 canadian??? forgot how much the dealership wanted but it was way too much.

Hrm....from my knowledge, a fellow Montrealer, dcoty, was VERY close to buying the STi 22b replica bumper from a dealer downtown. It was the REAL thing, STi 22b lookalike (narrowed to fit a normal GC8, of course) and it was urethane. I think the skin alone was like $700-900 CDN (below $1K I'm sure).

ask cardin555, he works at the dealer and was setting up the deal for dcoty

I don't know much places that have good price, those places I know the price are about the same.

eg, if you buy the magazine called "option dans magazine" there are lots of shop that sell performance parts for Subarus all over Hk island, Kowloon, and NT.

But I think those shops around NT (eg. feng ling or yuen long) maybe cheaper coz the places is huge and the rents for those warehouse is cheaper than in town.
