1996 EJ25D mixed up HLA valve buckets

Using my friend's account to post because he's helping me with my motor.

1996 Legacy GT. That means Phase I EJ25D with HLA 91+octane heads, etc etc.

Even though these heads have hydraulic valve lash adjusters, are the buckets specific per valve? They were mixed up the last time the car had a head gasket done. I've been told yes and no, and I'd really rather find out before I spend hours rebuilding a different set of heads or measuring and then buying expensive buckets. Keep in mind I'm not talking about mixing up the actual HLAs, JUST the buckets on top.

the bucket is the hla is the bucket, i think you may have shim and bucket and confusing them for hla?

Buckets...?

Just realized these pics don't show the top. It's perfectly mirror-flat aside from slight discoloration where the cam lobes touch.

EDIT: finally found out these are actually the HLAs themselves. I was thinking these were just buckets that sat on top of the HLA. After hours of searching through various sites I also found out they are all exactly the same.
