Advice on Wheel Brands for Winter Tires
At the risk of being a total noob (which I guess I am), what are the considerations (other than the looks) I should be evaluating when selecting a wheel for snow tires? Weight, size, brand etc. I'll be buying them for Michelin XI3s in the 225/50-17 size.
And what are the best quality brands? I'm not into bling, I'd rather have understated cool. I get that price is one variable - you get the quality you pay for. But I'm just trying to not make a mistake on the brand. Thanks in advance.

225/50 is a hair tall.
if its just winter wheels, get some steelies or something. Steelies will also allow you to run a narrower tire. |

If you want a wheel that might outlast your car, consider Braid. They have a wide selection and not all are crazy expensive. You might start with the cast win race range, the N is especially built for snow.

I just got some Winter Claw Extreme Grip 225/40/18's put on last week. Now I have nothing to compare them to since I'm new to cars, but so far I gotta say I'm pretty impressed with those. $688 mounted balanced and installed.
