anyone do anything to their knob to give it some more character? I love the knob, but it is a little bland looking. Any thought of manufacturing a shift pattern decal or logo of some sort?

My shift knob already has three chips now. I am guessing the paint didn't adhere correctly. What is the plan to make this right?

Wow

I'm sorry man. I talked to the powdercoating shop today, they are talking to the tech that did these today and get back to me tomorrow.

Likely it will involve you guys shipping them back to me and I'll have them recoated free of charge and ship them back.

I'm looking to see if I can work with them to prep them better. There is no excuse for this. Just sucks.

I really do apologize for everything guys. This was never meant to happen. Everyone that has had a problem, I am getting shirts made and if you would like I can likely ship one when I ship the repaired knob back for the troubles. The shirts should be done pretty soon.

I'm sorry. I should have an answer soon. I am going on a trip the end of this week. I'll be back Monday and will send out info for everyone to send the knob back and we'll get this taken care of. Sorry for the delays guys!

And there's another awesome reply! I appreciate the prompt replies. I really like the knob. It saddens me to see those three chips staring up at me. . Hopefully they can do a thicker coat so it doesn't ever chip again. I was shocked that it didn't get hot in my black sealed up car when it was 87! Amazing! I have no doubts that you will help us "lucky" ones out.

It was 94* here today, I have a black car as well and my knob wasn't hot either. But I run a white knob to match my wheels.

I'll definitely take care of you guys. I'm trying my best, this is a side job for me, so working with vendors gets worked into my day job and sometimes it's hard when I get busy at work. I'm trying my best.

I think we are going to bead blast down to bare metal and prime them before the powder gets laid down.

I'll keep you guys in the loop when I hear back.

Well I will say the knob feels great paired with the kartboy kit.

But after looking at the pics of shiny shift knobs here, I think the paint is messed up on mine too.

what color is yours? the black is a satinish, the white is a matte, and the gunmetal is more of a satin color. they are not all glossy.

Is it a color thing? Is the gun metal more durable? I have the red.

Need to do some interior cleaning.
just curious, did you 'clip' your leather boot onto the knob? i cant seem to clip it on, the leather boot just kind of sit right below the edge of the knob, and this bothers me a little, lol

Have they gotten around to an overlayed or engraved shift pattern on their knobs yet?

I now have five chips. Have you heard anything? These chips are right near my thumb, so I have the pleasure of feeling them while I drive. I am about ready to send it back and ask for a refund.

I'm sorry. I was on vacation, so I didn't respond a lot over the weekend.

But I talked to my powdercoater on Friday. We are going to reprep and rerun the knobs.

Basically I just need to get them back.

So I ask that you please email me all of your info, pics of your chips, and what color you have, and if you want to change colors now is the time. I can get them run in any of the 5 colors I offer.

My email is derrick@anarchymotive.com, when I get your email I'll respond with my address and if you'd so kindly ship them back. I will ship them back as soon as I get them. Likely looking at a 2 week turn around. I know that's not the best news, but I think we figured out exactly what we are doing wrong and how to remedy it. I am really sorry for the inconvenience, I really feel like I have cake on my face. I am going to make this right, I'm getting shirts done and I'll get them send with the repaired knobs, just let me know your size.

Thanks. You never responded about the colors having a different paint thickness. Is this the case?

Nope, they should all be the same thickness. If there is a difference in thickness it is by accident and caused by non uniformity in the powder process. Just like painting it may be thicker than others or may appear thicker, but the difference is nominal. Looking at maybe .005-.009" to be completely honest.

I did get it, I'm not sure what that is. Could be a machining mark.

I'll email you back tonight.

I will try it again if you can ensure I am not going to have chipping again. These aren't exactly cheap for me to send back. Extra money out of my pocket taints the deal and whole reason I went with this company.

I can do my best, I believe that we had all this worked out.

I understand your trepidation, but I have sold about 400 of these by this time and less than 1% have had an issue. I stand by my product and will make sure that you're happy. If this problem arises again we will go from there. But right now this is the best bet, in my opinion. I am doing to do my best to make sure that the powdercoater understands that these are constantly touched and that the prep work is the most important part. I believe they were rushed, as was I and that is what caused the problem.
