I still don't understand where the idea of a "front" and "rear" COG came from though. There is one COG.

I read that article and saw that as well. I think MotoIQ is a great site, but it's made for those who are interested in learning more about the engineering side of tuning, not for actual engineers. It's an introductory tool, therefore I think it's explained from a basic standpoint. The KRC is a good visualization tool, but I would not use it to determine my suspension geometry.

Even in racing there are "engineers" who still haven't adapted to the 21st century. Rather than using math and science to get results, they use their gut feeling and experience, which may not be a bad thing since it's easy to get lost in the math and science. However, they use methods that are now out-of-date.

My prof has been on a Champ Car title winning team and is now a consultant for a MAJOR IndyCar team and he says the KRC is irrelevant and that the FBRC should be used, so I'm going to trust him on this one.
