Default 2013 Subaru WRX And WRX STI Special Editions Debut At SEMA Show

*Updated with pricing*

I suppose these are the special edition cars that were mentioned in the dealer meetings earlier this year as an end-of-the-run treat?

200 WRX's, 100 STI's... won't last long.

Original link and picture dead.

From Left Lane News:
Quote:
The 2013 WRX Special Edition will start at $28,795, representing an increase of just $500 over the mid-level WRX Premium trim level on which it’s based. The WRX STI Special Edition will sticker from $34,795, which is $500 more than the standard WRX STI model.

Black side badges and wheels but not headlights.

Really wish they would have done more than cosmetic changes for a 'special edition'.

If they did a orange hatch, they could have called it the Great Pumpkin-Charlie Brown Edition.

I'm a fan. Any news of other upgrades besides colors? Maybe return of rear diff on the WRX like on the Aussie special edition.

Read multiple reports that listed both WRX and STi with a 6MT. Probaby bad info.

Me too, but it was always doubtful.

Definitely agree on their need for black housing headlights. Would complete the look. They're already limited, so you mean to tell me that they couldn't source a set? Laziness I tells ya.

Also, I'm not looking forward to the mark-up on these once pricing is released.

Wow, just in time for Halloween! I don't know, with the supply situation like it is, probably won't be able to get one delivered until Christmas next year!

Did you see the press release at the link? Pretty sure Subaru would mention any mechanical upgrades if they're mentioning little things like stitching, headliner, and badges. It's nice and all, but our special editions always seem to pale compared to all the Aussie specials. *sigh*

And I'll agree with the others that have said blacked out headlamp housings would complete the look... that'd be sharp.

I agree with the Aussie statement. Black accents FTW.

Would they sell 300 of them if that was a regular color? I'm not sure.

I fail to see what is 'better' about being orange? Does a different color make for a great car? They could have painted it puke brown as well. What were they thinking with orange. Sometimes, I just do not understand Subaru.
