Glad to see a STi made it stateside. I tried calling 20+ dealerships over the last few days to find one. I lucked out when someone backed out of their initial order and was able to get an orange STi with the short throw shifter, SPT exhaust, vortex generator and auto dimming/compass/homelink mirror. It is a surprise gift to my son. Deposit paid, VON acquired and the delivery says May. I look forward to doing a few mods with him.

Bummer. I was hoping they would have a serial number in the dash, like some of the previous special editions.

Thanks for the pics. Those will help tide me over 'till June :-)

Good thing you have several shades of gray and blue to choose from. No more red for you!

Only 100 sti's & 200 wrx's, Scions & mustangs are a dime a dozen while sti's are not...... Especially a tangerine orange one.

Is it bad when you already have a build sheet from a performance shop and start ordering parts before the car is even here ?

It's too bad the new orange car doesn't have the black headlights. Is there a way to buy them from a previous generation and will they fit? I haven't been able to find that answer yet. Also, I thought some of the piping was a red crinkle paint under the hood....looks like everything is black now. I ordered three Perrin items that are red.

Yes they will, but if it's the STI you'll need to fork out $700 EACH head light since they have HIDs and levelers. Same for WRX Limited headlights.

The WRX Special Edition is basically a Premium, so no adjustable HIDs. I helped a friend research all of this, plus we investigated when trying to swap headlights from my 2011 WRX Limited with his 2012 WRX Premium. I almost swapped with a 2012 STI, but mine were cracked. I got ONE new one covered under insurance which I gave to my first buddy since I was selling the car anyways. Now I'm just needing to buy him one more so that his 2013 STI will be complete.

Anyways, probably more info than what you needed. Honestly, I'd rather just bake and paint the headlights, but a lot of people are scared to do that. I did it with my 2005 STI. A little water got in, so I did it again and never had problems after that. It's much cheaper to just paint them. Better than $1,400 just to have black headlights (unless you want adjustable HIDs).

I believe it's about $300 each for standard black headlights.

It is not bad to have a build sheet. I have already purchased STi parts even before my order gets here. Goodluck!

Default No HP increase

I originally heard this car was going to have an extra 10 hp (that's a lot, I know). After reading through this forum, it looks like it won't. Now the question is, what would help it go faster...the extra 10 hp, or the awesome orange paint job?!

I think a limit of 300 makes the Orange move off the lot faster(since most of them never made it to the lot without a deposit) than 10hp would.....
