Talking Any mountain bikers out there???

Hey guys,

Matt (LegacyGT00) and I are putting together a team to do the 24 Hours of Adrenaline team relay race in New Jersey this June 2 and 3. We're looking for 2 more people, preferably in the Baltimore (or surrounding counties) area.
Although this is a race, it is strictly just for fun. You don't need to be an expert rider (neither Matt or I are) but you should be beyond the "I just bought a bike", beginner stage.
Check out www.24hrsofadrenaline.com

I'd like to hear from you even you're not interested in racing and just want to meet for some rides.

I'd be interested. I've been riding for years. I DEFINITELY would have to get in better shape though. Where do you guys ride in the DC area?

I have a friend that owns a shop in NJ and I KNOW he'll be there.

Wasn't Matt talking about doing the 24 hours of Moab in October also? If so, count me in for that.

MARK! Sweet. I am trying to hit Moab. I've got another guy in for that one. A team of four would be sweet.

I wish I could. I was training for Canaan when I broke my knee a few years back. Once I healed, I started riding again, but broke it a second time. After that, I figured it was a sign to take it easy for a while and I never really got back into it.

Maybe this year is the year, though!

mav1c, if you are looking for places to ride, there's plenty in the area. Try Lake Accotink in Springfield/Burke, Fountainhead off of 123, or Burke lake for relatively easy rides (though Accotink can give you a good workout, and Fountainhead can do the same as long as you don't mind going in loops for hours ). If you want harder stuff, try Gambrill and Greenbrier in MD - awesome rides.

Oh, and BTW, I just heard that Whitetail is no longer allowing biking in the summer! That sucks!

Have a Nice Day?

Are you sure about whitetail? That sucks big time if they discontinued biking. They were doing some pretty good business during the summer.

Mav1c, I ride at loch raven (batimore county) and 2 areas of patapsco state park (avalon and mckeldin). the avalon area is about 1 hr 20 min from DC but I'd like to do some rides at gambrills and greenbriar which would be alot closer for you.
I haven't raced in 3 years so I'm not in the best form yet either. But I'm working on it!

Hey Matt, I thought we were going for a team of 5? That would be even better. A Subaru team would be cool

Mark, are you in for just the Moab race or for the jersey and moab race? I'm out for the moab race.

One last thing, I'd like to get the team riding together once a week for "training" rides, including some night rides. Send me an e-mail with some contact info so we can talk more about this.

Cool. Thanks for all the location suggestions. I'll have to check them out ASAP. This is good, because it REALLY gives me incentive to get into shape. To much sitting at work, sitting on planes, and sitting at home. TIME to get up and RIDE.

Thanks again.
