Buy a IAG Up pipe? I was looking at doing the same (having one made), but by the time I figured cost of pipe and then the crazy high labor rate around me, it's worth it to buy the IAG one. Sucks though, cuz that up pipe is what I paid for the header and EWG setup.

Buy one. At $90+hr for labor + materials, you're going to wish you just bought one. If you remove the upipe yourself and take it in you run the chance of fitment/clearance issues IMO.

Yes, I am reaching that conclusion:

$150 Labor: 2x hours $ 75
$100 Materials: 2x V-flanges $25 each, 1x dump tube $50
$250 Total approx (plus $50 shipping two ways if I don't find a local fabricator)

$380 IAG EWG uppipe
-$80 Sell uppipe that came with the ELH
$300

So savings of only $50 if I find a local fabricator or $0 if I ship to fabricator.

Exactly is ridiculous, header with uppipe is $499 if you find a good deal and IAG asks $390 just for the modified uppipe.

So do you care to come in with a quote? PM is fine. Sounds like he and I both have the same 3 bolt up pipe. I'd be shipping the up pipe and flanges. =)

I do custom fabrication work but my concern with your project is I don't know where to weld it on. I don't have a jig for at and I can't exactly take my car apart to mock it up.

I can do it, if you want to PM me with your email I'll write you up an estimate. I've converted a couple of GTSpec manifolds like that, and recently I'm finishing up this:

Killer B 321SS EL header/uppipe, APS 3.5" downpipe, Blouch Dom5. Added the TiAL V44 and recirc'd the dumptube. It's a tight fit with the 6MT but it all fits pretty nicely

Everything is backpurged and joints are cut with an endmill or holesaw on a Bridgeport, no contamination from cutoff wheels and the like.

Could you post close up pics of the welds, i.e., flange welds on dumptube, thanks?

Sure, I took it apart this morning to get into the spots I couldn't reach, I'll take some pics when I'm done.

Here are a couple of pics, I'm not the best stainless welder, but I take a lot of time with my fitment and cleanliness and I rarely have had any weld failures.

edit: posted under my personal account, same guy.

Thanks for posting the pics, please PM estimate to weld the flange to uppipe and make a dump tube, I will provide the flanges that came with the waste gate.

I will need strong welds as I will have a Suppertrap muffler attached to the dump tube so a bit hesitant about your comment.

Do you have mandrel bending capabilities for the dump tube? Or you just weld tubing bends to achieve desired shape.

I finished the mock-up dump tube using PVC pipe and Gorilla tape.
