legacy transmission into impreza?

Will my 5 speed and rear diff from my 97 Legacy GT fit into a fwd impreza? Of course I will be doing an all wheel drive swap just figure I'll use these parts if I can instead of having to find another transmission and rear diff. Posted this in the transmission forum but apparently nobody there knows the answer.

yes a legacy trans mission will fit in an impreza. just make sure you get the same rear diff ratio and you will be fine.
