Default Dash Board Rattling

Hey everyone,

Just took my car into Ramsey Subaru in NJ for the ECM reprogramming that some may have gotten done already. I also happened to tell them about the squeaking from my drivers side seat back and the rattles coming from the A-Pillar and tweeter area of the dash on both sides of the car. The technician removed the A-Pillar and tweeter cover and wrapped the inside with foam tape and also insulated the covers. After he was finished we went out for a road test and there were no more rattles ( so far anyway). As far as the seat back...well it wouldn't make any noise at all while it was at the dealership...and still isnt making any noise thus far. The service advisor said he was " opening a case" with subaru to make them aware of the dash board issue I had. The people at ramsey subaru were awesome....I have had many great experiences with their service dept.

Well now I have a different rattle from the same location. I am beyond fed up with this crap. I'm sick of driving this car with all these stupid rattles from the dashboard.

Why did you have your speaker grills replaced? Under warranty?

Yes. Under warranty. Both were rattling. Took it to dealer to get them insulated and was told they were warped and needed replaced. The new ones fit better and dint rattle.

I think the rattling speaker grills are a common problem on these cars. I have seen it come up a few times here.
