Default xxr 530's clearing brembo issue :(

hey guys

iv been reading up on this for a while now and just want to confirm what i have read....

i drive a 2006 wrx sti and my new XXR 530 18x8.75 +35's arrived today...i was advised that they would fit and clear my brembo's but as some of you may know they dont clear the front

i do like the look of these and want to make them work so i was looking into it and from what i understand i need to run a 5mm spacer up front to get them to clear... now 5mm isn't a lot but i want to run the 5mm spacer safely...whats the best way to go about it..

i live in australia so it's a bit harder for my to get parts as it would be for you guys....but do i want to be finding hub centric 5mm spacers and extend my front lug nuts? if so what brand's can you recommend that will fit my xxr 530's so i can run this set up safely...

any advice would be greatly appreciated...at this stage ill be buying some 5mm slip on spacers tomorrow morning just so i can actually get the wheels on the car...

dan

ps: if its going to be too much trouble i think im going to bring the rims back to the supplier and get myself some enkei rpf1's in maybe 18x9 +35 or something insted so i wont need to run spacers

Extended studs and 5mm spacers. No biggie. I believe some shops sell them as a package. MachV, TiC, etc...

Warning: They will fit with stock studs and 5mm spacers but WILL NOT have enough thread to do it SAFELY.

Pretty sure you still have to run spacers on those +35 RPF1s. Just an FYI.

Those are shops. ARP is the brand that most sell.

got them fitted up today, fits awesome, for anyone that might of wanted to know, i had to use 3mm slip on spacers on the front to clear the brembo's which means the studs have plenty of room to lock down and i wont need to extend my studs!!

i think i read somewhere that the factory lug nuts only had at most 3mm of extra space/overlap with the stock studs. by running a 3mm spacer you are eliminating 3mm of contact/overlap of the studs and lug nuts. Now putting you at the bare minimum of required threading that subaru's engineers have considered safe/acceptable to use.

Personally, i wouldnt ever run ANY spacers on my car but thats not the point. just be careful, as i dont think you have "plenty of room for the studs to lock down". accoring to that logic you have the bare minimum not to let the wheels fall off
