Turn 12, section 5, row 7. A bit higher in 12 would have been nice to see a bit more of the S's, but that's a minor gripe. We were at the buses before 7:30am both Sat/Sun, which really really helped. It sucks to stand in line to leave something, but getting there late and missing the action would have been heart breaking. Just had to sack up and get up super early.

I have to say, with this being my second gp weekend, I am really envious of people who get to attend night races. The grind of 6am wake ups, long walks and long days in the sun really takes its toll on me. It would be a lot easier if it all started a few hours later.

Turn 5 wasn't bad but if I had a choice I would have sat in a different area. The view from the turn 9 stands was OUTSTANDING. Our group walked up there during practice the first day and you could see most of the track. Actually kind of pissed me off a little that I hustled to get tickets when they first came available, which at that time, turn 9 wasn't a planned bleacher spot. Regardless, great race and overall well done by the City of Austin. Could have used more food/ COTA specific merch vendors as was mentioned before but that was in no way a deal breaker! I ended up buying 2 shirts from the website as soon as I got home last night.

On another note, our area in turn 5 (section 2) had cops standing at the entrance nearly all weekend. As far as I could tell from walking around, it was the ONLY section that did. My brother got approached by an officer and was told that he "matched the description" of some guy they were looking for... this was shortly after seeing a guy pretty dehydrated/messed up (EMTs had him on an IV and everything) leaning against the turn 7 post near the bathrooms up there. Thought that was quite odd...

Looks like it might be time for a Hoveround.

Turn 12 was great, as expected. I was pleasantly surrpised by the amount of passing/close racing at Turn 15.

Not to sound like a broken record, but I'll echo the sentiments of other who attended: great city, great track, great racing. The shuttles ran smooth and most things were really well organized with the only exceptions being the food/merchandise at the track.

Oh yeah, the weather certainly didn't hurt...absolutely gorgeous!
