Default Factory HIDs on BugEye WRX models

Were factory HIDs available on the JDM BugEye WRX models?

I ask because I have seen ebay listings for OEM JDM BugEye headlights. Are those genuine? They look like factory units since the ballasts attach directly to the headlight housings.

Yes but-
They are the wrong beam pattern for North America (RHD vs. LHD) and will blind oncoming traffic.
Mechanically they bolt in but electrically they are not plug and play.
And now I'm going to lock this because it's a well-discussed topic that does not require a new thread.
