Default No start - ECU shorts.

I got my car back together after doing tgv deletes, and it was working perfectly yesterday. I went to leave with my car on a 7 hour ride this morning, and it would not start. No fuel pump activity, etc.

I tried connecting to the ECU to reset it or whatever, but I can't get a connection with any of the tools on my laptop. I noticed without the USB power to the tactrix cable, there was power (lights on) at the OBD port, but only when the key is not in the ON position. As soon as it gets to the on position, no fuel pump, no check engine light, no power on the OBD port. All fuses I checked were good, including SBF5.

The car is an 02 wrx, stock ecu, carberry rom.

Any ideas? Even if it's that my ECU is dead, how did it get there overnight?

Did you check the battery cables it could be a poor connection. Also check your engine harness plugs.
