Default 225/45/17 on a 2012

Hello everyone I need some help

Im currently in the process of putting winter rims/tires. I have a 2012 wrx. I know that the oem tire is 235/45/17 17X8

Im putting a 225/45/17 on a 17x7.

Will this work? Will it look funny?

Sorry not a wheel/tire person

Thanks in advance!

I have the same setup for winter in my 2011 wrx. Looks and functions good.

More specifics on the wheels them self would help confirm correct fitment.
