Nice work. looks great. pretty much the same setup i have. but with kelfords and +1mm valves with ported heads. I have both hotsides .91 and 1.00 to see what is better and compare the two. did you do anything to the heads other than cams? are they stock ports?

Very sick setup btw.
Yep, just a little bit of a tight fit. Definitely doable though, and I didn't have to trim my hood.

Nice! I'll have to check out your build. Heads are stock aside from GSC S2 cams and BC valve springs. Stock ports for now, but I suspect that'll change after next summer if not sooner.

Thanks all for the kind words!

Started the car up the other day after it sat through our Minnesota winter. Everything went well, fired right up (after putting a charge on the battery). Pulled the wheels and rolled the front fenders, then took an angle grinder to the rears. Even with the stock wheels, I was getting some rubbing in hard cornering at autox and it was shredding the sidewalls of my tires in the rear.

Planning on getting some more miles on it and installing an oil cooler setup and that big walbro drop-in. That pump should allow me to max out this turbo and get me through the summer. If I want more (haha, if), I'll swap it out and go through with the surge tank as planned. I decided to spend the surge tank/pump money on track days and E85; I'm tired of working on the car. I wanna drive it. I also bought a truck and started chipping away at another project, which ate up some of my fun car budget.

Haha, been dragging on this a little. Didn't really touch it over the winter.

It's in the driver's wheel well, above the fender liner.

I also have a brand new Turbosmart 45mm Hyper-Gate for sale. It's black and has the 14psi spring combo. Let me know if you're interested.

Sorry I've been bad with updates here! I spend a lot of time on the forums, but under a different username. Anyway, here's an update.

Been super busy this summer with work/life and haven't had as much time as I'd like to spend on the car. Put a Walbro 465 pump in and bypassed the fuel pump controller early in the summer. Continued putting around in it, waiting for time to pull more power out of it with Nuke. Ended up at a local shop for work and had some time to put the car on the dyno. Tuner made a few changes but kept things generally conservative. Car made 542whp/474tq. Still looking forward to meeting back up with Nuke to see what it can really do. Hopefully before the snow flies!

Other than that, no real changes. Had a pair of seats made, since I just hate the oem sti seats. I think it's a combination of discomfort and that blue fabric. Anyway, here are a few pics that I snapped one night about a month ago.

Toying with a few ideas here.

1. Sell the car
2. Part it out and daily it in stockish form
3. Sell the turbo setup and see what kind of power I can make on a stock location/TMIC setup

As for as the 'why?', here's the best I've got. It's not about the money or the car. I love the car and I don't need the money. I've just learned that what I really enjoy is the process. I enjoy learning every little detail, making very careful decisions, doing things myself and seeing it all come together. For me, this car is too 'done'.

Not yet. Haven't put a ton of thought into it. In the coming weeks, I'll put together a comprehensive for sale thread with pictures, details and an asking price.

If you (or anyone) are interested or have questions, please feel free to PM me.

EDIT: Received a couple PMs. I should note that the car will be priced fairly. It will be priced below what I'd get for parting out and selling the car as stock, but please don't expect to buy it for KBB.

Yep, I was talking about this with Layvon. I've learned a lot, but I enjoy learning still, everyday.

Good luck on whatever you decide! You built an amazing STi! Maybe trade someone with a brz for cash and their car? Idk their value.

I understand you when you say the process is the best part.
I'm the same way. I've been through 3 setups on my legacy already. And now the built motor and 8375 is now getting out together.

I plan to track mine so hopefully that will get me to enjoy the car enough to not want to sell for something new. My legacy is my 4th Subaru. My 2000 obs is my daily and number 5.

Good luck with whatever you decide. But your car is definitely put together very well n tastefully.
