Ive done some reading and research, I would just like some things confirmed :P
So for 04 sti brembo brakes, stock 96 sti 16" gold rims will not fit and I will have to get new 17's correct? Than if I need 17's I would prob just keep my rims and brakes for now and just get new pads and rotors. Ive read that the 96 sti has 4pots front just like the 06 wrx and 1pot rear... Would it be a good idea to upgrade rear to 2pot from 06 wrx or wouldnt make much of a difference...? and also if my 4 pot need rebuilding would it be okay to rebuild them using a kit for 06 wrx calipers? Another question I have is would 04 sti hood scoop and wing fit on my gc8? If it needs a little moding thats okay too And im just curious i read that the gc8 sti can do around 4.5sec 0-60 but i couldnt find anything about 1/4mile time and top speed... i think it said 12ish for 1/4 but wasnt to acurate... and top speed some say 220 some say 240 others say different top speeds... (this is without the governor at 180 ofcourse) Thanks alot for the help ![]()

The 4 pots are great brakes, you may not need to upgrade the fronts.
you should consider the 2 pot rear upgrade, which is really popular on classics as you know. an 04 scoop wont fit properly, and the wing will look terrible! |

I seen some hood scoops that fit and are just taller but was just wondering if the 04 would fit because they're wider taller and just way bigger overall... And I think I was thinking of newer gc8 sti that had a slightly bigger wing than mine not the huge 04 sti one...
I know alot of classics upgraded to the 4 pots Im happy my car came with those already wasnt to sure if the rears are worth upgrading.. Im kinda leaning towards doing it but if theres no big difference no need but there should be some kinda difference...Just read that the 2pot need 17's also but the jdm 16's that are on my 96 sti will work with the 2 pots? can someone confirm this also? Front brembos do not fit with 16" goldies. Rear 2 pots do fit with 16" goldies.
The 04 sti scoop and wing don't fit and would look like crap. My 95 did 12.8-12.9 mostly stock and 12.5-12.6 with a chip and injectors. I can't tell you the top speed. I have a 140 mph speedo (225 kph) and can bury the need all the way down easily. My guess is 150-155 mph (240-250 kph). |

Would there be a big difference from 1 pot rear brakes to the h6 rotors or the 2 pots 06/07 rear brakes? Or would it be better just to keep my stock ones and change pads and maybe stock rotors?
