Default Anyone know where to find a 04-05 Wrx?

Im in the market to buy another wrx and I really wanna buy a 04-05. Reason being is that not only is it my favorite body style, but its also the only one in my price range other than a bug eye.

*However* Im looking to buy at a dealer because I would need to finance it. I have a solid job working plenty of hours and will be able to pay for it fine but it will be a way for me to build credit as 18 year old.

So my question is does anyone know of a dealer between maine and CT that has a 04-05 wrx? it doesnt have to be a big dealer it could be one of the smaller places, it doesnt matter. my price range is between 8-12k. Ive been looking but have only been able to find one in Haverhill mass that is overpriced for its 140k miles

I've been looking to, don't want to drive my FR-S in the salt

I've seen a lot of bug eye's going for 8-10k (at dealers)

the ones for 8 are pretty rough, the ones for 10 are decent enough, considering age. I've been CLing and autotradering (they are both now verbs)

we have entered the snow season so anything with AWD gets a price bump

Why not buy from a private party and just finance through your bank or credit union? I've seen plenty 04-05 on CL in your budget that are private party, so unless you have a vehicle to trade that could be an option.

I just did a quick search on Cars.com and craigslist and this is the list I found for 04-05 WRX's selling at dealers currently from Maine to Ct. Try using a bunch of other search engines and you'll find more choices.
Hey I have a site that needs some back-end development done, can you do that for me too

Also, why do you need to buy at a dealer to finance? Get a loan from your bank. You'll probably get a better rate than a dealer anyway. Then hand the dealer/person/hustler a bank check.

The fail is strong with this one... thread.

Also just noticed that you already have an 04-05. Are you looking to replace it for any specific reason? Add to the livery?

well reason behind the finance was because I could purchase from a dealer which usually means warranty. Last wrx I bought I didnt notice the cracked plastic radiator and it spun a rod bearing on the way home. which I did get fixed and ended up costing me 7k after I had bought it for 7k.

I got rid of the wrx to purchase a mustang but I have decided that was my worst choice i had ever made and want to get into another wrx before the snow approaching soon.

Hershey, Thank you for that list. Some of which I had already seen including the over priced one with 140k haha. I had been looking on craigslist but couldnt find ,any dealers advertising them. I have come to also no big time subaru dealers have any, mostly small time places. but some were also in pa or further and im not sure I want to travel that far for a car.

Look around on MainelySubarus.com

There are usually a few older WRX's for sale.

You only want to buy one from a dealer but don't want to overpay? Good luck bud, anything you find that you think will be "reasonable" will be junk most likely. If they are going to offer any sort of 30/60 day or 1 year warranty they are going to want a cushion to make sure if they have to pay out they aren't going to lose money in the end.

How about having the car properly inspected by a third party mechanic prior to buying it? A warranty on an 8 year old car will be full of holes, they won't cover most of the issues that come up or they'll pay for so little of the issue you would have been better off getting it fixed somewhere else.

Listen to Snowphun. There are very good Subaru specialists around. Spend $150 and hang around for a day.

The other problem is that if you buy the car from a dealer and have the warantee through them, you have to usually bring it back to them to get it fixed. Are you really going to want to flatbed your Subaru down to.....say.....Wallingford, CT and leave it there to have them fix it? What if they stall and don't get to it for a week. Then they say it's ready and you go to get it and woops. We thought we were done....it was the other subaru we fixed.

Wait for something to show up local to you. If that takes you through the winter, then hey......you learned something. Get some snow tires for your Mustang.

I'd take the money you would spend on snows and buy a beater for the winter. No amount of weight in the back or the grippiest of
tires were able to get me around in anything greater than 3 inches of snow.

I'd keep searching but if your trading in the mustang in the middle of winter Im not sure you will get close to what you think it's worth.
Roughing it for the winter and sell during the spring might be yoar best bet.

I decided im going to wait a little longer and not only find the right car for me but one that fits the price accordingly and to what I want and somewhat locally. Ive rushed into car in the past (wrx spinning up on the way home) and this mustang and it has bit me in the ass. This is a car I plan to keep for quite a while so Im going to be patient. For now its snows on the mustang.

Thanks for the help everyone it was greatly appreciated. When a wrx rolls into my garage, ill be sure to update!
