advice please

so I just let a potential buyer test drive my sti he had cash with him, so I trusted him.
after the test drive I smell burnt clutch, and the when I shift feels really soft. Like its not grabbing as well as it did a few hours ago. I never beat the car or launched nor raced it.
I have a 05 sti at 80k stock clutch., so any advice let it cool down or is it shot? The buyer just dipped and said nah feels too slow.

i just went for a drive I have to rev very high to shift into normal gears., and when on the highway cant really hit 65+ in 6th have to shift to 5th than 6th again.
I am so pissed right now.

No,. The guy handed me the cash and he is a DR of all things. And now I am like wtf., I am guess I need a new clutch.

Sounds like a joy ride!! 80k on stock clutch sounds high to me but I'm rough on my ****.
I drove a WRX with 140k and when I did a hard shift to second it slipped bad, smell, everything. My 08 doesn't even cause a scent when I rock gears and it's got 63k and counting, stock clutch

Moral of the story is never let someone test drive your car without you going with them. 80k is a lot on the stock clutch so it was on its last leg anyway. Hope it all works out. Sorry for the bad luck.

Dude, this sucks. Sorry to hear it man. Just bc he is a doctor doesn't mean he can drive.

let it rest for a while, unless it need obvious replacing. how many miles have you had the clutch?

Tried one hour ago high rpm, couldn't get over 55 MPH. I parked and called a tow truck.

That totally sucks man. If you do need to put in a new clutch I'm willing to assist. Ive taken a WRX 5 speed completely apart and changed all the internals with 7000 miles and still perfect. A clutch job im sure would be simple. Sounds like the guy might have fried it or maybe even bent the flywheel.
