I run a collision/custom shop. When asked about an all over job our response is "We start at 5k and go up from there." We are doing a color change on my FXT and it is going to be a hellofalot of work but should be worth it in the end.

I got a Ballpark EST from my dealer in Norfolk , Va , $5000.00 , I don't know a lot about what a good price is for a stock paint job but the 5K did surprise me a bit ,then again it was a dealer.

I've been looking to get my bugeye wagon painted. The original paint is peeling. I'm the original owner. It seems that someone repainted the car between the time it left the factory and when I bought it.
Anyway, a full paint job, stripping old paint, removing windows, doing engine compartment, door jambs, matching color code etc was about $7000. An Earl Scheib special generic white acrylic polyurethane and stripping bad panels was $800. Door jambs and engine compartment not painted. Plus most stuff masked instead of being removed for painting. Urethane to match color code, strip and paint, door jambs and engine compartment not included for $2000. I'm still checking out body shops since I intend to keep this car for a while. It only has 50,000 miles on it. |
