Default 08 wrx boost leak? Help needed

Hey guys, thanks in advance. I have a basically stock 08 wrx, only mods are a custom 3 in. catback, K&N panel filter, and perrin turbo inlet(previous owner). so basically, to set the stage, a couple months i took the plunge and got an AP. Started running Cobb's OTS stage1 map, and was getting pretty bad boost spike- like up to 16 or 17 psi and then giving me the P0244 wastegate solenoid code. so i tried the LWG OTS map... and same thing. So then i did some research and went to Torqued Performance. Sent Eric Minehart an email and he advised me to go ahead and run his stage 2 map and send him a datalog. So i ended up running his stage 2 OTS map for about 2 weeks because my clutch was slipping and i couldn't get a good dyno pull for a log to send him. However the car was running fantastic, even on the stage 2 OTS. so then i finally got around to sending him a log about 4 days ago, and he sent me a revised map, which was even better (I HIGHLY recommend Torqued Performance). However, after about 2 days running this map, my car started to act up. at first it was just low boost, but then it got really bad really quick. About 30 miles after i first noticed it, the car started idling really hard, and could only reach about 8 psi at full boost. I was able to get the car back home, and looked for leaks, and i still have yet to find any in the plumbing, as far as hoses slipped off or cracked and stuff like that. Now, the car is giving a P0171 code for running lean at idle, and the problem still persists, with lack boost and in-turn, lack of power.

i have an idea of what it might be, but i don't want to sway the opinion. thanks in advance again.

Did you say cat back or turbo back exhaust while running stage 2 boost levels?

Oh and did you check your TB to IC hose?

thats what i read too. i dont think eric is gonna tell you to run a stage 2 map without a downpipe installed. do you have a downpipe or not?

wow, that's a new one. sorry for providing all the necessary info. every other trouble shooting post i've seen on here has ran the OP through the ringer for not describing the situation in detail.

anyway, problem solved, it was the hose running from the BPV to the back of the intake manifold. popped off the back of the manifold.

and yes, i am running a stage 2 map but it's been adjusted by eric. i think he told me to run a stage 2 to get the log cuz i wouldn't have been able to do a pull without it throwing the P0244 code when the boost targets are lower like for a stage 1. but thats just a guess.

The rubber ends on the TB->IC hose are known to bust off quite often. Fix it:
1) remove rubber ends
2) burn them and dance around the smothered remains
3) spray inner ends of TB->IC hose with hairspray (I kid you not)
4) re-install either with stock worm clamps or t-bolt clamps

read again. it was the small bpv hose not the tb hose. that hose is a known problem though.

It wasn't clear to me if the TB->IC hose was also a problem area for OP. That BPV reference hose does pop off quite often at higher boost levels, which is why it's always nice to carry zip ties with you
