Default Best halogen 9005 (high beams) bulbs you know of?

Getting into winter, I ski and when I feel like making an ass of myself I TRY to snowboard sometimes. But of course there's no time for this during the day most of the time. I have to drive between half an hour and an hour to get to any ski/snowboard places around here, and it's usually at night.

The high beams are nice enough, and I like how white they are for halogens, but I need something brighter. Increased reaction time (seeing a deer 400 ft away vs 100 with worse lights) is great when I'm driving 40 miles on a 1 lane highway.

Is there going to be anything better without going HID?

9011 hiR bulbs.
still halogen and they throw a lot of light.
the next best thing to an hid retro fit.

If your low beams are 9006's you can get 9012's for them.

the bulbs base will need a bit of modification but they share the same plug/filament location so the output won't be all willy nilly like a plug n play hid kit.

there's a how-to thread around here somewhere I think.

Definately 9011 HIR for your high beam 9005.

And for your low beam apparently conversion from H11 to H9 (if that is what you got) seems pretty popular mod:

It looks like a big improvement based on this thread. I have a bugeye myself so the H9 conversion does not apply. Anyways I'm already retrofitted with bixenon plus HIR 9011 high beams

I'm sorry, I thought it might be nice for me to suggest an upgrade for your LOW BEAM BULBS TOO.
