Impreza GC8 Differences between ver5/6 WRX and STi

Looking at the JDM auctions for an STi GF8, but I'm starting to wonder if I really need to spend the extra money on the STi over the WRX

My searches yielded little for that era:
cars101 shows only information on USDM
wikipedia is unclear on the STi upgrade for that year
autoevolution had some but not much
scoobynet had one post filled with guesses
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65756 shows specs for the STi

autosnout has full specs for each model, but they appear identical.
Combining that with the wiki, it seems that the only upgrades were cosmetic. However, I do know that at least the struts&hats and the brakes were upgraded. Is there anything in the powertrain that differs? Please note I'm comparing a standard JDM STi and a standard JDM WRX - no limited editions.

Found the important answer to my own question.
The WRX STi sedan and the WRX sedan both had 280ps
The WRX STi wagon had 280ps, but the WRX wagon had only 240ps.
