I pretty much want to know if I can stick the rear axles of a WRX in my 2.5i
I've had a rotational type of whining noise in the rear passenger side of my car for quite some time now so I looked into it the other day and I found one of the springs popped out of the pin/shoe in the e-brake assembly so I replaced those now it's not rubbing on the rotor anymore. I put one of my wheels back on it and rolled it around and didn't hear any rubbing or whining noises so I buttoned everything back up I drive it around and there's still a whining metal on metal kind of noise. My car was in a small collision last winter and there seemed to be no major damage from my visual inspection but I have reason to believe something is up with the rear end now. It's isolated to the rear passenger side of my car so COULD I just find the rear passenger side axle of a 06-07 WRX and stick it in my car? I have access to a full shop and doing the work is no problem for me and I figured this was the best way to get it 100% rather than guessing at parts. On the other side, it could just be inner/outer CV and/or a wheelbearing, but if someone with more experience would pitch in I'd greatly appreciate it. ![]()

Chk the transmission and drivetrain forum. There is a thread with parts from year to year, etc. I am pretty sure some WRX axle will fit but I don't know if it's the same year as your 07

it should fit, but i would check your wheel bearings first, thats a far more common problem than an axel.
