Without starting a debate, no one knows for 100% sure. I've seen rumors both ways, but to my knowledge no one has had both apart to measure and measuring is proof in the pudding.

check out this thread
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...highlight=VF48

my 39's oilseal has gone poof, and i got a 48 for a good price (still in the mail) so i figure it was a good choice of upgrade. theres a few other threads in here of people with 48s putting down some nice numbers.

i believe the real subydude made a thread about his experience with it. Im looking forward to bolting it on and get it dynoed.

VF30, VF37, VF39, VF43, VF48, and VF52 are all the same core RHF55 turbo. Only differences are the turbine housing in the case of the VF37, and compressor housing in the case of the VF52. The only differences between a VF30, VF39, VF43, and VF48 are subtle changes to the compressor housings to accommodate changes to the STI intake and oil feed setup over the various years. The VF48 and VF52 also have different wastegate actuators for their respective applications.

You can use an RHF55 core on any of these turbos/compressor/turbine housing combinations and it will work fine.
