Hey guys just looking for some info on the jdm ver4 sti motor if you could give me some input I would really appreciate it, the swap is already complete I'm just looking to buy the car but it has an overheating problem so if you guys could maybe help me figure out what it could be give me some info on parts that work with this motor I would really apretiate it thanks!!

Sir, please step away from the vehicle...
The Ej20K is already a pretty high strung engine and many of the JDM imports were flogged. They are notorious for spinning rod bearings, especially after they get downgraded to US pump gas. Add overheating to the equation and I wouldn't touch that car with a ten foot pole. Unless you are ready to immediately spent $2500-3000 rebuilding the bottom end on it, that car is a pass. And that's not even considering potential smog/emissions testing issues that you may or may not have to deal with. |

Well it's only got about 30k & an aftermarket ecu, the guy daily drove it from a fresh rebuild until now at 30k which took him about 3 years but I figured maybe the water pump but guess not?
