Default control arm recall notice?

Gents,

Bought my 04 WRX a little over a month ago. Just received a recall notice from Subaru about front control arm issues. Has anyone else gotten this and if so, how long does it take Subie dealership to fix it?

They dont always replace them FYI, they have a "puncture" test theu do, if it fails, they get replaced, if not they get painted with rust stop...

It is a relatively quick and painless process, although when my 02 wrx went in i got a lil more then I bargained for, found out the sub frame and "engine cradle" was full of rust and rotted. I just bought the car back in April. BUYER BE WARE!!!!!

I was expecting mine to be replaced as they were very rusty and kinda scary looking. Somehow they passed the test and I just got some goop sprayed on them. I'm doing my best to trust Subaru's judgement but it still makes me a bit nervous.

The "u" brace always rots out, the engine cradle is likely just fine... Some MYs dont even have the brace.. It was added for crash safety...

Going/went through this with my fozzy, the brace is completly gutted, the engine cradle looks no worse for wear..

My LCAs had huge holes in them, pics to come...

Oddly, the actual suspension attachment points and the engine cradle are perfectly solid...

I opted NOT to replace the brace on a car that was rotting out so bad in the REAR...

I'll be in the market for a shell come spring....

We took our Forester in for this and ours passed, so they rust proofed them. My '04 WRX has had rust proof from day 1 and they look practically brand new, so I haven't taken it in yet.

Someone local who goes to our meets had one fail/break on him while driving. You may want to take a peak at yours.

I just put STi aluminum LCAs on my Bug along with KB end links (one of the OEM links had broken off).
I'd had enough of the steel arms and worrying about them here in the salt capitol of the USA

I'm bumping this up..

I received my 2nd notice for MY07 WRX.. I haven't went yet. The dealership I trust is 40.5 miles one way + $6 in tolls

I'm trying to figure out if a closer dealership to me is trustworthy. :-/

There's no way to get them to replace them if they pass, but look rusted/scary?

I have tried that with my local dealer, and they wont replace it.due to not failing, so its.either they pass.or.fail. no middle ground
