Default Quality gauges for reasonable price?

Hey guys so I am currently running a glow shift boost gauge, which has yet to fail me but I get a lot of crap from other enthusiasts about how they are a terrible company so on and so forth. That being said I have been looking into running the clock gauge cluster for functionality but also for esthetics (love how it looks). I am not looking to spend a fortune on gauges, That being said I was thinking of buying these http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/Tinte...ge-Series.aspx since my boost gauge has yet to give me issues. What others have been saying is making me second guess it, and I don't know if I should shoot higher? I have seen gauges for as high as 300 and that is just way out of my price range I would be uninterested in going above 100 unless it was very highly recommended. I did a search but not much came up, if someone can point me in the right direction, or confirm that I would be fine going with glowshift that'd be great!

I've never had problems with my prosport gauges and they weren't that expensive

I am also in this exact situation. I wanted to go with prosport because they look awesome....
But was told they are not that good...delays, not working properly, not reading the correct info etc...
Am interested in hearing the responses. Good thread

If this is going with the oem tach/speedo cluster of the my2002, then I don't think there's a lot of options that will blend in nicely imho.

I'm currently using ISSPRO gauges because they have a clear backlit needle that can be easily modified to blend in. Boost and clock look like this (next to an all yellow VDO clock):

It's not quite 100% oem look, but much closer than having blue or red backlit gauges

egauges.com sell ISSPRO

I was going for this clock cluster http://www.jscspeed.com/images/catal...thumb_full.jpg

My only concern with the looks are that they can light up green since all the 02 wrx interior lights are green pretty much. I am to lazy to switch everything to red or a color that I prefer same reason I now have my touch screen head unit set to green. That being said as far as looks of them are concerned I am not all that picky as long as they light up green. That's one of the reasons I was considering going with those glow shifts that and the price.

My main question is are they quality or are they garbage? I have a mechanical glow shift boost gauge and It's done me well. If I do this clock cluster I would need to get 3 new gauges, since this one lights up red and I feel it looks out of place. So one boost, the other 2 something simple maybe oil temp, and water temp or vacuum. I am mostly doing this for esthetics more so then functionality but I would like the things to work! This is why I am avoiding AFR gauges as I heard they are a pain in the ass to install and I am trying to avoid paying a ton for installation.

Also I am glad that other people were running into these issues in deciding on gauge brands and this wasn't a worthless post haha!

I could be wrong, but it looks like the glowshift has red needle only. Other than the almost impossible to get omori gauges, you'd have to do some DIY to get white unlit letters + yellow unlit needle & green lit letters + yellow lit needles.

That's why I went with ISSPRO gauges that comes with clear needles. Price is quite good for the fit & finish imho.

Well I don't need a green needle per say but they have the 7 different back light colors one being green, right now mine is like black numbers, white back light, red needle doesn't really match.

Do you guys think they're good gauges though?
