On a side note, wish I could go. This is a beautiful drive but I have summer tires.

Highway 2 is closed due to two deaths from trees falling/snapping, and two incidents so far of tree vs car.

Contemplating joining the cruise, but 1+ hour just to get from Port Orchard to Bothell is a trip in itself.

Is this just an impreza thing or are all Subarus welcome? I have a legacy
. Are there a lot of people meeting at the super mall so far? I'm new to the Subaru family and haven't been to a cruise before. So if there is anything you guys think I should know, I would definitely appreciate it! Thanks! |

Welcome to the club treebark. I'm sure everyone is welcome in the Subaru community and even if you didn't drive a Subaru you are welcome too, but it's obviously cooler if you come with a Subaru. I'm sure as long as you are equipped with snow tyres, are a respectful and responsible driver there shouldn't be any problem. These drives are to have a good time, meeting other enthusiasts and driving responsibly to give the Subaru a good reputation. Over the last few years, there had been issues with wreck less driving, tailgating, passing on blind curves ect., but it seems to have gotten better over the years and hopefully it will remain like this.
Not sure if I will be able to go on the drive, but have a great time and drive safely. Happy New Years Eve from Australia, Bryan |

Does anyone have a guesstimation what time the pack will be rolling thru the Monroe area?
Bothell is about an hour in the opposite direction for me, then we'd be coming back he way I just came. I was thinking I could lurk around untill I see the pack, then join the formation? If anyone else thinks that sounds good, we should all meet up somewhere and wait for the group. |

^ I plan to park at the Monroe Les Schwab just before 10:00.
If the group is even decently large, that should give me more than enough time to hang out and wait for 'yall. |

I just made the same trip for Christmas. Snow on the pass and a ton of snow in Leavenworth I'm on summer tires with good tread and I had no problems at all. Remember these are Subarus. Just don't drive like an ass and you will be fine..
Does anyone have a estaminet on how many people are going? |

Radios would have helped a lot on this drive. After getting stopped at a red light in Monroe, ended up driving by myself with two other Subarus the rest of the way to Leavenworth not even noticing you guys stopped at the rest area.
Being that this drive has been done before by the same organizers, I would have thought there would have been a regroup on the side of the road like drives in the past. Not knowing either that everyone stopped at the rest area, it would have been helpful with radios or even stating in the thread on the forum that everyone would be stopping for a break. Not to give you a hard time, just want to improve for the next one. Having a tail gunner with a radio is always helpful too being in communication with the person leading in my case scenario. Only some suggestions.. It was my first drive in 3-4 years so maybe things have changed since then. On the bright side, we all made it home safely and I was happy everyone behaved themselves. Happy New Year also. Forever Friends~ Forever Subaru~ Bryan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
