i'm not a ferrari fan. in fact i don't care for alonso in the slighest and think massa's the biggest douche out.

seriously think about it. it was that close with cars that were that far apart. if ferrari improve their car, they should win.

couldn't be more full of BS if you tried. webber's had plenty of wins, outqualified seb plenty of times, ran the fastest lap of the race plenty of times, etc etc. he's just a combination of extremely unlucky and a very poor starter. it's not often you see him passed on anything other than the first lap really.

you don't win at monaco or outqualify vettel by being mediocre.

Webber has helped Red Bull win 3 constructor's championships in a row. Just because he doesn't bend over like Massa doesn't mean he isn't a team player.

Webber is now 6th in the standing, he was 3rd in 2011 and 2010, and in 2013 he won´t be better than 6th again

I place Webber in about the same driving company as Button, and a little behind Raikkonen. if he's got a great car, he excels on certain tracks (Silverstone, for example). For my money he's the best #2 driver out there, and his results have been pivotal in locking up the constructor's championship.

Mclaren has had a ton of good results as well, but rarely did both Mclarens excel on the same race day. If Hamilton put it on the front row Button got his ass kicked in quali, or Button did great in the race and Hamilton broke down/crashed out.

Side note: recently Webber's stated he's not a #2 driver ("I won't move over for anybody"), but I'll always remember his win in 2010 at Silverstone after he had to give up his development front wing to Vettel (after Vettel's failed in practice). "Not bad for a number two driver. Cheers!"

Where Mclaren claims equality and no team orders, webber is still the best true number 2 driver on grid since 2010.

My point was that this year's Ferrari was not the lame dog everyone wanted to believe it was. They just milked that perception all year to add to the Ferrari mystique and make Alonso look like a hero. It obviously worked.

Was it as well-sorted as the Red Bull? Nope, but it wasn't the rolling red turd people wanted it to be, either.

Honda did have three wind tunnels to confirm the design of what became the BGP001. However, if you take away the double diffuser and it became a car with the pace of the Mercedes that spawned from it. The double diffuser wasn't even orginally part of the cars design, it was something that was supposed to go onto the Super Aguri that never came to be and was integrated into the car. It really was a flash in the pan, not a technical breakthrough like the RB5.

Pole added! I didn't ask who you thought would win the WDC, I asked instead who you thought would be the biggest surprise of 2013. Could it be someone new on the scene? An old favourite in a new car? Or someone you expect to dominate who gets thrown into the weeds with mistakes and unreliability?

I went with Hamilton. I think his inputs could turn a predictably-bad Merc into a decent car this year that wins a few races. So, compared to 2012, it might just be running near the front of the field.
