Default Crazy Holiday Drivers - Be Careful!

Just a friendly PSA - be careful driving out there ladies and gentlemen! Within 45 minutes of driving today, 3 separate drivers on 3 separate occasions decided to make a right turn from a left turn lane directly in front of me. Twice crossing several lanes of traffic to do so.

Please be careful, keep your eyes open and trust no one lol

One of my biggest pet peeves is when people don't throw their turn signals on...ugh. I didn't know that it's so difficult for people to push a lever up or down with a finger . Plus, it can avoid so many accidents because people will know where the heck each other are going.

Lately theres been a trend of people not yielding when they make left hand turns at a light. So if you are making a right at a light beware, they think they have the right of way.

Honestly, the worst drivers out here to me seem to be the taxi drivers. I just don't understand, and some person drove off the onramp from Loop 202 and fell and blew up on the 51 freeway and another car hit that. Not kidding...

Anyone else feel that those ramps are really unsafe? I understand the ground tends to unlevel and the different parts of the ramp/bridge tend to move, but there can't be anything done to pave a smoother transition?

I'm sure you guys all know what i'm talking about, nearly every interchange, i.e. I-10/Loop 101West, I-17 and every major interchange, they all have these stupid bumps in the transitions of the different ramp pieces that are caused by the ground changing and getting pressed down by all the weight or just the earth flattening in that area from air pockets.

I know on the west side loop 101, they filled air pockets under the ground with cement and it would expand to help the ground from not changing elevation and causing the highway to crack or change height. I'm sure something like this can be done to reinforce those beams that hold those onramp pieces.

Yes.. We all know what your talking about... The bumps that limit us to 80 instead of 100 on the ramps :-P

Serious note though, you can feel the car almost shift sideways on some of those. And some have a pretty gnarly drop that have the same effect.

This! Drives me nuts - I hate those bumps! Just when you think you can push it through the curves, you hit that hiccup and on non-awds, you feel like you've landed in the next lane. I've been trying various ramps (as a scientific experiment of sorts) and I have my favorite but the bumps are still noticeable.

Also, Im a bit relieved to hear Im not the only one who has noticed the crazy holiday (and Honda! hehehe) drivers. Not that there aren't crazy drivers the rest of the year, but I think people get too wrapped up in their running TODO lists in their heads and whatever else to pay attention to what they are doing. Or they are too wrapped up in themselves to be courteous to other drivers (yes! the signaling-as-an-option irritates me too), especially those that realize they've missed their exit/turn once its too late and do everything in their power to fix it. (ie, stopping, reversing, turning, crossing 6 lanes of traffic) How tough is it to go with the flow and then find a place to turn around??
