Rigidindustries fog lights?

I ordered a light bar for my 2012 wrx and am wondering what the best light for use as a fog light is?

Do I want a spot or a flood? They also have a 'driving' version of the dually d2 I am looking at. Is the 10" e series (combo flood/spot) a good addition to a pair of dually d2s?

Also, can I do the wiring myself? Is it as simple as hooking them up to the battery with a fuse and a switch in the passenger compartment?

I'd think a low sitting flood pattern would be the best possibly with one of there yellow transparent covers. And your right about the wiring.

rigid lamps are great...but their beam patterns are less than perfect. They have alot of spread...but not as focused as similar halogen counterparts. Their driving beams go fwd really well, as well as side to side...but alot of vertical spread too. Meaning in a foggy scenario, they wouldn't function like a proper fog lamp. Also, you'd not want to use them in traffic, as they can be pretty blinding to others.
Their spots have a bit of scatter to them too...but not as bad.

Floods I can only imagine would be horrendous in fog and traffic.

FWIW I have a 10" specter bar (driving beam) under my bumper, in the air dam area, and 2 10" spots on my roof rack. They are great lights...but fairly purpose specific....backroads use. We had really bad fog last week and I turned the specter bar on just to see how bad it was....and I highly recommend against it in fog

If it doesn't say fog light chances are it won't function well in that specific role (wide beam with a low cutoff.)

I suppose if you were handy and didn't care about the warranty you could make some kind of cutoff shield but, I think everyone else is right about it not working to well now that I think about it

i have the Rigid Industries Dually 2x2s Flood pattern

as my highbeams. they are fantastic but i've noticed they "waste" alot of light upwards, and dont have terrific distance.

i would suggest to you:
-get the driving beams instead
