Default Review: Berkshire Muffler Center, Pittsfield Ma

After I installed my 3" Perrin DP, the Borla Aggressive 2.5" catback (which will be for sale shortly) that my car came with did not fit nicely. The flange on the DP required a 3" to 2.5" adapter sandwiched before the catback to mate up correctly. Even so, it leaked and put the catback at a funny angle.

At the suggestion of member Mikewrz, I called up Matt at Berkshire muffler supply. He has an STi swapped 2002 wrx wagon, and said he could make me a catback that would mate up to my downpipe nicely. I wanted 3", with a good tone but not obnoxiously loud. He suggested the same setup he has on his car, which used two straight through Magnaflow mufflers-

Today I brought my car to Pittsfield with the mufflers (which I purchased from amazon) for installation. The shop uses aluminized steel exhaust piping, although I think they can get stainless for extra cost. Matt did a really nice job bending up the system, and welding everything together. The exhaust sounds great, with no leaks or rubbing. I am going to remove it from the car this weekend to spray it with high temp paint, and I will take pictures then. I was charged $180 for the job, which I thought was very reasonable especially considering how nice of a job was done. I hope that high temp paint will prevent any corrosion, and if worse comes to worse, I will repaint it again in a year or two. If anyone is looking for a good muffler shop in western Ma, I would highly recommend this one
