People that say "pop" are mentally imbalanced.

guess I'm weird, I'm from Boston and call it Coke.

I've never heard anyone say "tonic" unless ordering a "gin and tonic", despite what that article says.

people who call everything a coke are umm.. just dumb - take that all you Texans! Look it's soda-pop so I can see where calling it soda or pop comes from. But calling everythign a coke? That's like saying NoS instead of nitrous.

"I'll have a coke"
--'What kind?'
"7 up."

When I want a soda.. I ask for a coke. That's be cause I want a COKE, a COCA COLA! Fountain Dr Pepper sucks. POP (for a "carbonated beverage") is such a STUPID word. Soda is cool though.

Heh...I'm one of those blue dots from Eastern Wisconsin. I call it soda even though everyone else around me called it pop.

Coke? Only if it's actually Coca Cola.

same here. I ask for a Coke no matter what.....well, unless I actually WANT a Sprite or an iced tea or something

otherwise I refer to all 'sodas' as coke

soda and pop are for LOOSERS

Default it's SODA.

not "pop." not "soda-pop." not "coke" or "sody-pop" or anything else. dammit.

besides, saying "pop" makes you sounds like a hick. well, in NJ anyway.

and i don't get the whole "Coke" thing. i only say "Coke" if i want a Coke. which is just about never. but if i want a Pepsi, i say Pepsi. Sprite, i say Sprite. see, there's a pattern here.

it's like people calling tissues "Kleenex." or copies "Xeroxes." i don't get that either.

I only use Band-aid brand adhesive patches. And Kleenex brand tissues. And Q-tip brand cotton swabs. I'm a snob like that

I used to say "pop" when I lived in Oregon and Washington. Then I had to switch to "soda" when I went to college in California and was publicly shamed for my pop-sayin' hillbilly ways. I still flinch when I say pop..
