Default Tire replacement? 1? 2? all 4?

Hello,

I bought 4 new summer tires at the beginning of the year. I do not track my mileage, but I estimate I drove between 4000 and 6000 miles on these tires.

One of them (front right) got a flat and the wall is most likely damaged - tire will probably need to be replaced.

That being said, would it be OK for me to replace just that tire considering the distance I have driven on the other 3? Am I better off changing the two front tires? Or does having AWD mean I absolutely need to change all 4?

I got a thread indicator tool from the garage and one of the tires is showing very good thread while the other 2 are borderline good/very good.

Thanks

It's all about how much life is left in the tires. You can buy one new tire from a place like TireRack and have them shave it to match the existing tires. Can your tool measure tread in 32nds of an inch? That's what you need to do, so you can see what tread is left on the existing tires.

No, my tool cannot do that.

I will have my tire looked at to see if the wall is damaged like I believe. Hopefully it's not.

If it is, I will get a better tool and have a new tire shaved. Thanks
