Lightbulb Benefits to aftermarket equal length headers on 07 2.5i?

are there any benefits to putting aftermarket equal length headers on a 2.5i? i know that unequal length give you the rumble but lose a little power. i was just wondering if any benefits to going to an aftermarket equal length header? power gains?

i saw these on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-2008-20...8e32c7&vxp=mtr

i dont know of any others. i just thought of the idea and just wanted to hear if any benefits.

Those headers wont even fit on your car. They are for a Legacy. The header layout is completely different for a 2.5i. If your interested in UEL headers to give you that true Subaru Rumble... Im actually selling my old set. PM me for details...

Contact TWE(Tech works engineering) if u have cash to blow. The cheaper route is obx El headers. Personally I'd pony up the cash for twe's.

Yes, yes. If your looking to gain that's the best way to go and w/cams(twe & Delta provide those services for regound cams). By modding do u mean fabrication? Lol

The EL's will give u a decent hp boost, improve gas mileage, and increase torque. I'm running invidia EL's on my 07 2.5i, and delta 1000 cams. Best 2 major mods u can make to a 2.5i if u ask me

I have CNT EL headers, and they came with a HFC, so I am street legal in all but the toughest states. They also did not require any reflash, as they do not throw any codes. They did require that I change the back half of the exhaust to a 01-05 spec cat back and lengthen the rear O2 sensor wire. I was buying an OBX catback as well anyway, and the wire was pretty cheap. Everything bolted right on and I have not had any problems since. The whole setup cost under $800. I am very happy so far. The noise is slightly raspy from the HFC, but other than that it sounds good. Not quite a "rumbly" as a UEL, but I prefer go over show.

Agreed, i'm running Lachute Performance EL headers with a HFC, 2.25" diameter exhaust all the way. The headers are definitely the single biggest improvement (engine wise) that i've done (and that includes Delta 1000 cams and a tune for 91 octane). More HP everywhere, and a major increase in low-down torque.
Of course, they're not cheap either, they're made to order, but in some cases, you do get what you pay for.

ok from what ive learned from further and further researching and searching through a crap load of post ive came to the conclusion that i need an equal length header for 05rs.

i would then have to put an 05 exhaust on from there or get a HFC Cat and shorten the stock midpipe. i will prooly change over to 05 exhaust including the cats for now. i would also have to lengthen the o2 sensor wire and possibly a spacer for the second o2 sensor (but im still not sure). anything else?

i was thinking about getting thes headers:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/02-07-SUBARU...ad30c2&vxp=mtr

or these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-Exhaust-...dd6602&vxp=mtr

the first ones are stainless but not obx or any namebrand. the seond are obx but the description says ceramic coated and not stainless steel. it also says racing application only on the second.

will these work and am i on the right track looking for 05 equal leangth headers?

The first one is for a WRX and isn't EL, its UEL. In fact it is very VERY UEL.

As for the OBX in the second link, it clearly states that it is painted mild steel, not ceramic coated. HUGE difference

Yes, 98-05 headers. Equal length almost universally have a strange looking loop in them, like the second link you posted earlier. Many headers only come with a resonator and not a HFC. If your state requires cats, you will be screwed come emissions time. Additionally, the resonator or HFC can cause your car to throw a 420 code, which is a lot less fun than it sounds. The traditional method of resolving this problem was an O2 spacer, but this causes fueling problems on the 06-07 2.5i's. I bought a CNT EL header with a HFC, and so far so good, but the real test will be this winter, when the temps drop down and the cat may not heat up fully.

what if you use the 98-05 stock cats? would you still throw a code? how does it mess up the fuel since the spacer justs tricks it into gettinga good reading right?

-06-07 have been reported to use the rear o2 sensor for fuel trims in an unknown manner.
-Header wrap HELPS with codes and cat efficiency, but is not a solution in all case.
-Off road usually means there is no cat, but a catalityc converter can be welded in, in place of the resonator can.

Has anybody successfully hung an OBX header on a 05? If so, what modification is necessary? I'm trying to sell mine to someone with an 05, after I get my TWEs.
