Hey guys,

Today I noticed that my wrx is idling weirdly. It's making a sound reminiscent of a diesel at idle when fully warm, which it hasn't done before...very rough sounding. I am 100% stock, maybe 19000 miles. I haven't checked anything yet, and I didn't get a chance to run it up to see how the performance is (traffic...). I had an oil change at the dealership about 500 miles ago, fwiw. Anyone else had this issue or know what may be going on?

Skip this step and just bring it to the dealer.

Natch guys, I was just curious if there were any usual suspects before I commit to spending a day with my car in the shop, but I guess I'll have to bit the bullet and do it.

Doesn't sound pretty, take it to the dealer.

Rough idle usually will throw codes. Is your CEL on? Did this happen all of a sudden or did the idle become progressively worse after you had the dealer change the oil? Have you checked your oil levels?

No CEL, came on suddenly. I'm going to check the oil tonight when I get a chance.
