Really cool exhaust.

Just curious does anyone over here in North America even have the Recaro STI seats?

If so, they've been very low key about having awesome seats.

Yes. There is a guy on iwsti that has them and you do not want to know what he paid to get them here.

Sourcing them is rough...

Takes a good amount of reconnaissance, desire, and the Pleiades cluster of stars to align so the Subaru Gods can grant you the seats...

Doesn't matter... It's not worth the time. Im positive I'll be content with aftermarket Recaros. The STi Recaros would be a nice shortblock/ gearset in comparative cost.

Car producing a modest 370awhp and 370ft-lbs. The numbers are attributed to maxed 900cc injectors. Respectable power output, barely tapping into the full potential of this setup.

Dyno chart shows full set-up w/ 900cc injectors flowing E70

6.12 50-100mph:

2012 E85 and 93oct VF52

I spent the night with the car driving and logging with E70. Original E85 tune was actually on E77. At WOT the car was at MBT getting off the dyno. The intial pull was 370/400. Showing the advantages, I'm not taking advantage of. The purpose of the the fuel is to have benefit of advanced timing, without reasonable concern for detonation/knock.

Compare the E77 tune (343/370) to the 93 (314/340). Basically a 30/30 increase. How do the two tunes and variables relate...

Fuel and boost. The 93 tune is at 18.5psi while the E77 is at 20psi. That 1.5psi is significant enough to account for gains in the E77 tune. More so the TQ, not the HP. The E77 is contribution more towards the HP, not TQ. Point is, the car has benefited from the fuel and boost increase. However, the car easily makes much better figures at 20psi with more timing. The fuel is not being used to its potential. There is a minor octane rating difference between E77 and E70. Nothing to be concerned about on anything other than a way too aggressive tune.

The 50-100mph is a tool for power comparisons. My E70 pulls have me at 7.20 (rounded up) from 50-100mph (verified by frame). 3rd and 4th gear used with a very methodical 3-4 shift. Slight FFS that was not a benefit with the slow shift.

I applaud you for your approach to modding. That is my intent as well but being a 2.5i its a little bit harder Best of luck on modding! Keep up the good work.

AWESOME build! Where did you find the "Subaru" branded boost and oil temp gauges? I only know of the "SPT" boost gauge.

They are genuine gauges, usually referred to in a pair as the Subaru Meter Set. Manufactured by Defi. These are the reason you will not see Defi release white needle gauges to their aftermarket lineup anytime soon. The gauges are intended to be mounted similar to the SPT. Very similar templates, but better offerings in the meter set. I only know two websites who supply the gauges.

Thanks... the "not-professional" photo quality was acknowledged and it will be addressed.

Only so many cars can have owners who take photos professionally. #rsuttonxluben

Do not listen to Jive, keep the ride height where it is!

This is overall a very well thought out and executed build. Thanks for sharing. You have dropped a pretty big dime on all the STI imports. The oil cap alone is expensive for what it is. Love the side skirts, just couldn't imagine paying 1k for them.

Tarmac 2s are a fantastic option. I do not DD, and may be switching to 500/500lb springs. They would be very tolerable for most under DD conditions. Pay attention to the road and don't put them through unnecessary abuse. They'll be smooth and responsive as ever on the, eh, tarmac.
Seeing the pictures is making me excited for winter to be over. I have a set of T2's ready to go on my hatch with 500/500 lb rates. Glad to hear your impressions are positive.

Just wish I had the funds to pair them with a great looking set of Volks. They will have to make due with the plain BBS stockers.

The T2s will definitely be enjoyed. The BBS wheels are great if you dont really need extra tire and do not want waste funds on wheels. Perhaps a better tire is all thats needed.

... The side skirts were had for less than 1k new.
