My condolences. Sorry to hear about your friend. Now that I am 29, my driving style has changed a lot from when I was younger. Let us all drive safe and keep other drivers far from injury as well.

Had a guy I worked with that was depressed about his girl breaking up with him take his motorcycle out to ortega for a run. Flew off the edge of a cliff. Somehow survived. Broke his back and a few other bones but was lucky to be alive and still be able to walk.

Some friends and I recently went for a late night drive in the Ortegas. My friend took a corner too fast up near the blue jay camp ground and went over the edge, rolled down the hill about 100 yards. Thank god him and his passenger walked away without a scratch. It was one of those god things. I was behind them when they lost control. I didn't think they were going to be ok. I still don't understand how they didn't get hurt. It's crazy how quickly situations go from hanging out having fun with your buddies, to realizing you could be dead in 1 second for some stupid thrill that doesn't matter. I won't be going on any canyon runs anymore. I now know that it can happen to me. regardless of how good or bad of a driver you are, it CAN happen to you. Stay safe guys.
