Hi everyone,
I'm looking at a 2000 2.5 na, legacy wagon with about 160k on the clock. The car looks pretty clean, but I haven't gotten it up on the lift yet. Anyway, being a past and current Imprezza owner, an 06' and 12' Imprezza and an 09' STI, I know each model has it's issues. Can anyone tell me what they are with this model year? What should I look for? Do they have head gasket issues, drivetrain or any other glaring problems? Thanks in advance

They have headgasket issues but they are external leaking, so a much less chance of causing internal damage. You can also check with Subaru on the recalls for the car and see if they have been done yet.
Overall they are a pretty good car. |

I just bought a 2000 legacy L wagon with 204k and it feels like it has 50k. Might be because only 100k on the tranny but I love the car. Check head gaskets, timing belt, clutch. Great peppy car and the Awd is great.
