Default stage 1 installed on my sti 2013 sedan update

took off my k&n intake and put on cobb intake plus airbox and installed accessport. i dont recommend the k&n intake because it is very difficult to install and to do filter maintenance. the cobb is a breeze to install and also the filter maintenance is easy.

^ Real mature. This isn't Facebook. Go start a build thread if you want to do updates and this will keep the NASIOC Gestapo off your rear.

Running the K&N is stupid to begin with. Were you ever even tuned for it? The only way to run that safely would be open source. I wouldn't even say protune because that would be dumb to pay $300-$500 to tune once for an intake.

At least with the Cobb box you can safely run your OTS maps on the AP.

Also don't share with dropbox, clicking a link for a picture is annoying. Just go to photobucket and create a free account.

Come on people, the OP is just proud he wasted over $200 on a CAI for just a Stage 1 OTS tune...when the stock intake would have done just fine.

Gotz to have the noize!

^^^some people like the sound of the turbo. I am one of those people. I must be a dummy to. I had a beast of a bugeye and now have an sti, i miss the sound of the bigger turbo with the intake that my sti does not have (at the moment)

Modding your car is supposed to be fun for the individual doing the modding to THIER car. An intake is a very popular mod that most people end up doing to their car once they start down the modding wormhole. Stop being hater just to be a hater. You had no business replying to this thread.

to the OP-

Congrats on the intake. i will be purchasing a cobb intake soon as well. you should get a down pipe and go stage 2 to unlock some real power and a permagrin.

I personally have to Cobb intake too... although it came with the car. Quite frankly, I do like the sound of it. Maybe I'll get sick of it someday, but for now, I think I'd buy one for myself for the price.

Wow... People are ******** on here lately, I guess seasonal depression/anger is getting to people..

However, you should start a build thread - not post a new thread in "General Community" about a stage 1 upgrade.

Oh I remember you, you're the guy who put the K&N on his brand 2013 STI with no tune and got lit up by the general forum a few weeks ago... Probably should've just continued in that thread instead of starting a new one... Just saying, 'cause it prolly would've gotten less "good for you buddy" comments.

Anyway, nice setup... your car will be much happier now running those parts.

Forums are created for a community of car enthusiasts of like kind cars to assist others, talk shop etc etc. I will be honest, every board has their fair share to tools, but this board is the worst, and I have been and am currently on different boards.

Every forum has their trolls. It's part of the internet... been here a long time. Learn to ignore em. In fact, isn't there an ignore feature on this board?

Oh, I see. If members complain about the forum and are told they are free to leave (admittedly in a sarcastic manner), it suddenly means I'm mentally challenged (get politically correct) and/or don't like the subject matter?

What kind of short circuit do you guys have in your brain synapse?

If it weren't for grumpy, sarcastic "keyboard warriors" such as myself, this forum would be just another internet hole where "enthusiasts" (re: one who bought an import racing magazine, read it, and got a boner) would stroke their own egos with run-on text spellings of how cool their hella flush foglight covers were, and why it makes their car so much faster than yours.

OMG! YRU so mad at meeeeeee????
