Mike I hope you plan on servicing it yourself as we won't bring any tools in for the rsv4 which is kinda sad.

While I like chuck, I wouldn't let that shop change my oil, much less work on my babies.

Besides. Aprilias don't breakdown. They aren't like Ducatis.

Wink

It is a nice show room. You folks have a nice accessories and riding gear area. But that ignorant sales staff and poor customer service leave a bit to be desired.

LOL. Just messin' with you man. You folks have always treated me well. I do quite a bit of business in there. More so than any other dealership in town at this stage.

Alaskan Ben Lamay qualified directly from his heat for tonight's supercross main in San Diego. Huge accomplishment.

Wanted to remind everyone that the Alaska motorcycle riders group is meeting at 7 pm at the peanut farm Friday the 15th. We are going to get some needed face time with each other before the riding season begins. We want to plan some summer rides and would like to get input or ideas from within membership. There are no fees or dues to join.

If anyone has a bike or is looking to get involved in motorcycles, I encourage you to come join us. Some extremely talented and experienced riders in the group. Thanks.

^^^ Man, if only he had pinned the throttle, he might have saved it. But, I'm sure that was the last thing on his mind.

That sucks!

Good to see some riders show up last night to our Meet up group. Each major dealership (Alaska Cycle center, Anchorage Yamaha and the Motorcycle Shop) in town has offered their parking lots for gathering places and is offering discounts to members of the group. Also Alaska Leather is now a main sponsor for us.

And BTW, Ben Lamay just qualified 6th for a direct transfer to the main in tonights Arlington, Texas AMA Supercross.

Nomadgene,

I believe I saw last season that you offered to impart some of your riding knowledge and give some instruction during meets/rides. Is that something you'd be up for again?

Sure man. I encourage you to get signed up on the "Meet up" site listed above. I will post up when I am headed somewhere. This group is just a loose association. Not a club or anything like that. You just post up if you are riding to a destination and if people want to join, or meet there, or just ride back at their own pace, it is up to them. No hard feelings if no one shows. Every once in a while, we will have a bi weekly or monthly organized ride.

In the summer, I usually ride almost daily, weather dependent. Last year, I saw Brandon grow exponentially as a rider. It was a riding season long, methodical and progressively more difficult skill set which did it. Nothing trumps seat time. I also worked with him on bike maintenance (changing tires), clothing choices and set up. We often swap bikes to focus on certain traits of different bikes, tires and brake pads too. These things plus daily riding, in all conditions, will help you become more knowledgable, confident, and competent.

That being said, I am not a "stunter" and I won't ride with those who display such antics.

I look forward to meeting you. What do you ride?

I currently have a Ninja 650R in the garage and have ridden that for the past 4 years. Before that I only rode a 500cc thumper for a season to learn as I had zero motorcycle experience. I also have a deposit down on a '13 Street Triple R. So while I'd like to think I've learned basic riding skills over the past 5 years, I'd really like to learn some more advanced skills to just ride more safely and competently. I can certainly stand to get better at braking, low speed handling, and getting comfortable leaning. Not to mention I'm at least a little nervous/excited about the significant power increase that I'm about to get.

I'll also be interested in these group rides. I'm not the most social guy in the world, but do love to ride and have ridden with groups a fair bit. I look forward to meeting up as well.
