Default 04 sti top hat alignment

Just assembling these together. They're the fronts btw. They've been apart for a while and I'm having a hard time finding images or info on how the top hat on the spring is aligned. The hole for the strut top is offset and I'm a little stumped concerning what postion it should be in.

Did a search but I'm not finding anything. Looked at some google images but can't get one with a good enough view and to be honest most of them look like they're installed wrong. Any help? thx guys

You said the hole is offset. Do you have Whitline Com-C tops?
Is the metal upper part gold colored?
Can you post a picture?

Maybe he means the spring perch? The wider part faces out. For the top that actually bolts in the chassis the stock one is symmetrical.

Yes, it might be but it's not 100% clear if its a stock top or not.
