Default 2.5rs turned 04 sti

so im doing a huge build for a customer right now and i figured i would share it with everyone.

so we are starting with a bone stock 2001 2.5rs. the factory engine spun a rod bearing. so rather than rebuilding the boring na engine he decided he wanted to make an sti. so here is how im doing it.

starting with a stock sti engine complete. tmic turbo factory air box bla bla bla
also going to be using the factory 04 sti complete wiring harness.
doing the harness swap is a little tricky but its getting there. im using the sti instrument cluster and everything else will be from the 2.5 rs door harnesses, hvac, lights and well everything else. i could go on and on about the harness but i am not going to take up all your time with that. if you have any ?s feel free to ask.

as for suspension and drivetrain we r going with full 04 sti suspension. struts and springs. how ever we will be putting 2.5rs top hats on the struts to prevent modifying strut towers. the trans, rear diff, control arms, hubs, axels, knuckles, and brakes will be wrx parts.

by using the wrx parts this will put the wheels 10mm out farther than factory 2.5rs increasing stability. however this will cause camber issues so we r fixing that by installing the aftermarket camber bolts front and rear.

if there are any questions about the build or any ides feel free to comment

This looks promising! Have you ever gone to a Central Ohio Subaru meet?

I did a while back but I'm so busy with customer cars and on top of all that I'm doing a build of my own. Just haven't had time to go out there

sick build, i want one of these badly. What are you estimating total build cost to the customer to be?

well im suplying all the parts and labor and minus the radiator hoses and fluids its like 9500.00 total. thats with new clutch and brakes and tuning it and i included tbe and k&n air filter and 3 port ebcs. the prices varies alot depending on what kind of deal i work with my suppliers on parts. also this customer bought this engine from me and i personally put it together and offered warrenty on everything so that jacks the price a bit but all in all with everything thats being done it seems so be a good deal for him.

did you have any issues regarding the dbw and its pedal position? my RSTi started developing inconsistency in the voltage, throwing the car in limp mode after driving a bit.
it is missing the OEM plate that attaches to the bottom of the pedal assembly tho.

sorry for the thread jack!

Xreaction no i have had no problems with the dbw. I made a bracket to bolt to the factory gas pedal bracket. U just have to make absolutely sure u have every single ground attached properly. One little ground can cause tons of problems
