I'm pretty quiet here on the boards, but figured some local members, if you're here would appreciate the info and if you have any back, would be greatly appreciated.
Back February 15/16,sometime overnight Friday into Saturday, my rear Window was popped with what appeared to be an air soft gun. Window was slightly pierced, and when starting the car and turning defroster on before clearing snow, the Window popped and shattered. Replaced the back glass, much to my dismay, and so I thought... The end. Thursday this past week, March 21, around 11pm my girlfriend thought she heard something in the yard, I looked out the Window and saw nothing. No suspicious cars, people walking. Nothing. I didn't think anything of it. Went to leave for work Friday morning, and there sits a 1/4 cinder block, next to the car, with a dent in my trunk lid and hole the size of the block in my Window. First time, whatever. Second time, someone is following, watching, targeting. For what? Couldn't tell you. I'm 28. We have a 2 month old son. Live in (what used to be) a quiet area in Manchester, one of the few left. Close to exit 6 on 93. I go to work, and play hockey a couple nights a week. I don't hang out with any car clubs, associate with any of them or any local "car kids". Only distinguishing factor on my car in winter mode is some blaze yellow snowflakes (which will no longer be this way after these events). I don't drive like a dink around neighborhoods, I don't cause trouble. I don't get it. If anyone hears of any strikes on cars, please keep a heads up. If anyone has any info I would like to pursue apprehending the pr¡(k$ that have now cost me $575 for their antics. I am lucky and fortunate to not have anything stolen or be worse, but this is getting old and certainly won't be affordable when my insurance goes up and for every deductible. I haven't had an accident or violation in close to 10 years, and to have some punk kids raise my rates will not be tolerated. Thanks for listening to my rant. Hopefully I'll find a conclusion and end this garbage.

Good lookin out man. My suggestion: notify the police (if you already haven't) so they will possibly increase patrol in the area; talk to neighbors and see what they have to say; install a security camera, wireless, pointed at your car. That might be able to deter the punks, or at least be able to get some usable info on them that you can take to the police.
Good luck with your car. |

I have filed a report both times. Whenever I talk to the officers, there's not a whole lot of return concern I get back, no one is getting hurt, robbed, I'm not tipping off a local meth lab... So I don't get a feeling it will be a priority for them to keep up on.
The officer that finally came out (2.5 hrs after I initially called yesterday) didn't have much to say but that he would file a report in their log to increase patrol in the area. We'll see how well that works... |

What do you want them to do? Keep an eye on your car 24/7 now?
If it happened once, I'd chalk it up as random. Twice? I'd call that targeted. Thank about who may be upset with you. Even if you think there is none, theres always someone. Set up a hidden camera. |

Gun laws in NH allow you to own your own personal firearm, correct?
Go grab a rifle and start blowing away anyone and anything that steps foot into your yard. Or you could be a girl and set up a camera.... MEN use guns, right? |

Probably a BB/pellet gun rather than an airsoft gun my man. Airsoft shoots those wimpy little plastic balls I think? Sounds like whatever busted through your car window had to be metal. Airsoft guns will not typically even break human skin.

OP sorry to hear about your car man bringing this to the attention of the police is a great idea. You might want to get the car parked near a flood light with IR sensor. You could go a bit farther with a camera, there are a multitude of low cost high capability cameras on the market that can link up to your computer via the net and are event triggered. Setup an IR trail camera or two and do so at night so no one sees you. Works every time.

I also posted this on the GSSM group on Facebook, but Manchester Police are at least actively looking into it...

OP, my parents live right off that exit as well. In the last few years, crime has gotten pretty rough. A couple months ago, my parents were gone and some people walked right into the house. Luckily, my sister was there. Otherwise, they would've raided the place.
Aside from that, I've heard of lots of similar instances. Get some security if you can, folks. |

It's a shame we have such scum in the world. People pissed because they have mommy and daddy issues or nowhere to go and hate their life so they take it out on public property or other people's fortunes.
![]() When I was up in Manch last year I spotted quite a bit of members vehicles too. It's a shame this isn't Texas. Haha. No one should be able to come into your yard and mess with your stuff. |

Yes, sad we have to deal with things like this.
To add... A relative (local, 20 mins from my place) had her windows shot out in her house, one of them a bedroom. (my car is there maybe once a week, happened week after my 2nd incident). Next door to her, lives someone with a wrx that stays outside, usually where I see it. Not the wrx, but their other car was Vandalized a week before her windows were shot. A friend of hers who lives near me had his windshield shot once and smashed 2 weeks later. In her police reports, they called to add a suspicious pickup in the neighborhood and also near the windshield car driving through slowly. They are looking into the suspicious vehicle and are trying to tie all reports together hopefully. I know there's a slim chance they're related, but coincidental enough that makes it awkward they've all been happening around the same time. If they are, and damages are $1000 or more this guy is on the hook for a felony charge, which hopefully is the case and some of us can get some money back from deductibles. I don't have hopes up by any means, but anyone in the Manchester area seeing a dark pickup (make and model unfortunately unknown, only distinguishing markings being 4x4 stickers on rear) creeping your neighborhood, jot the plate down and call it in. Let's end this. |

That really sucks man. About 7-8 years ago the drivers door window of the civic I had at the time was shot out with a BB gun. I was living on a side street by the Elm and Queen City Ave intersection. Not the best neighborhood, and I had the same experience with the police, basically telling me there was nothing they can do about it.
I am curious what part of the city your relative lives in? I will keep watch for any suspicious trucks/activity. |

She has something more for evidence, they retrieved the pellets from her windows. Hopefully some good detective work does us all some justice. |

Unfortunately, you can't get prints off pellets.
Information gathering is all you can do. Security cameras, neighborhood watch, etc. Same thing was going on in my neck of the woods a couple of years ago. It's very frustrating, but we have to remember that it's just stuff that's getting damaged. It's a pain in the @$$ because it costs us money, but at least it's just stuff, and not you. |
