Default Needing Advice on my 97 Subaru Legacy L A/T Temp Light Flashing

I have a 97 Subaru Legacy L with 216k on it and the AT Temp Light just started flashing 16 times on startup. I had this problem a few years ago and had the Duty C Solenoid fixed and it totally took care of the problem until now.

This time I'm not getting any actual torque binding when I'm turning tight corners and I'm thinking that it's probably just my tires having different wear on them (the front tires are completely worn, like even with the tread wear bars (definitely the wrong term) and need replaced, and the back tires are fine). I know even a small difference in tread can cause problems with the all wheel drive system on these cars.

I just need some wisdom on this, do you guys think it could be the tires causing the light to flash? I just put $700 into this car over the summer and I doubt it's worth much more than that so I'm hesitant to put more money into it at this point if it does have major problems. I'm thinking I'll just buy cheap tires ($300/30,000 mile warranty) since it's our second car that we don't drive much and even if it lasts only a couple of months, it's paid for so it's cheaper than a car payment. But I'm wondering could the duty C solenoid have gone out again? Would you guys have that looked at or just chalk it up to the tires?

Thanks so much for your help!

Bryan
