Default WRX rear diff question

I am bored of having open rear diff, so I am looking at upgrading to a WRX rear diff. I was wondering if anybody has done this and if there is anything else I need to swap over also or am I okay with only swapping the diff?

check the transmission/driveline forum. I think you have to swap the ring/pinion gears so the diff will bolt up and you will want one that matches your transmission ratio so you don't cook your center diff. Something about what years you can use,etc

It's a simple swap. Put both diffs next to each other, open and remove both center sections, pull both ring gears, put your original ring onto WRX center section, put your new LSD into your original housing and check the gear mesh pattern via the factory service manual. Adjust if necessary or install back into the car. Same axles can be used.
